CodeThemed is a web service empowering individuals to customize their mobile devices. We strive to make personalization simple, beautiful, and available to everyone, and we hope to inspire people to think of their devices in a new way.

The Idea

Phones, tables, and other mobile devices are part of the lives of millions of people. But many of us purchase devices and use them with the default settings, straight as they come from the manufacturer. A new community of tinkerers has formed: people who see customization as a form of self-expression, or those who desire to make their devices completely their own. Theming, or changing the look of icons, menus, buttons, backgrounds, and more, is one form of customization; this is where we come in.

We provide an online Theme Builder where members can create designs for their devices and share them with the community. CT supports all iOS devices (iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad) on all system versions. Themes are compatible with WinterBoard on jailbroken devices, or with limited customization on non-jailbroken devices. Theme Builder v3.0, the latest major release, introduced many new features in early 2013.

Our mobile app provides a quick hub for discovering new content. Themes transfer wirelessly from the desktop website to the app, so trying out themes has never been faster. A built-in mobile Theme Builder also enables members to be creative anywhere. The app has received three major revisions since its original release in May 2010.

The Team

The company was founded in 2009 by Jonathan Mazaltov and Nick Frey. Jonathan Mazaltov, a graphic designer and photographer, is the definition of a hipster. Nick Frey is a teen software developer from the midwest who enjoys playing Minecraft and programming into the late hours accompanied by dubstep.
